King Naresuan Memorial, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

King Naresuan Memorial is the project instigated under her Majesty Queen Sirikit in order to honor King Naresuan the Great of Thailand. Constructed in the area of Tung Phu Khao Thong, it covers the area of 543 rai, 3 kilometers from the city to the north along Ayutthaya-Pamok Road. It was built as a memorial to honour King Naresuan the Great as well as to celebrate the 50th anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's accession to the throne. The place is also to preserve this historial site to be a tourist attraction of the city. The project consists of the statue of King Naresuan the Great seated on the big horseback, enshrined on a pedestal made of marble and granite, 11 engraved pictures describing the history of the King, King Naresuan Museum and a large reservoir that contains 2,000,000 cubic meter of water Throughout the area, the green tree garden was set up for recreation.
